Since 2016 award-winning food truck Heirloom Toronto has been dishing up their brand of farm-to-truck fare to hungry runners at the Famous Canadian Beer Run. Think of Heirloom as farm-to-table brought to life in the form of a stylish food truck complete with a “farmers feed cities” slogan on the side. Mouth-watering, flavourful, healthy, wholesome and artisanal-style food prepared by trained chefs and served straight from the truck. With a focus on locally and ethically sourced products, Heirloom is known for both sweet and savoury fusion-style eats.
In 2018 Heirloom won the distinction of being named Best Food Truck by NOW Magazine…here’s why: duck confit tacos, pork belly banh mi, braised lamb shank sandwich, fried chicken grilled cheese (drool). Need we say more? But that’s just the start. Their offerings rival some of Toronto’s most popular eateries and each menu item is prepared with flavour in mind – a beer battered fish sandwich is elevated with a craft beer batter, pickled cabbage slaw and homemade tartar sauce on a brioche bun (hungry yet?). Canadian staple poutine goes gourmet with King Cole Duck confit (don’t worry – an original version is available for less-adventuresome palates). They also offer a selection of vegetarian options, including: poutine, vegan tacos made with crispy tofu, a quinoa and mushroom-based veggie burger and sides like fresh watermelon salad.
Heirloom will be serving at the Festival on event day starting at 11 a.m. They accept cash, credit cards and debit. Welcome back to the Famous Canadian Beer Run, Heirloom!
