Dude, where’s my beer? (And answers to all your burning event day questions)

The Famous Canadian Beer Run is this Sunday, September 18th and we’ve put together this handy guide with all the 411 you need for event day. So crack open a brew, kick back and get schooled on everything Beer Run!

Late Registrations

Friends don’t let friends drink beer alone! There is still time for your friends to join you at the start line. Registration is open online until Saturday at 3 p.m. There is on-site registration from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. (no personalized bib or shirt size guarantee, CASH ONLY). Register now!

Please note that no changes or transfers will be permitted after Thursday, September 15th at 11:59 p.m.

Volunteers Needed

We’re still looking for a few enthusiastic volunteers ages 16 and up to help with a variety of positions, including: registration, course marshaling, set up and tear down. Volunteers will receive a race shirt, beer sample and volunteer kit filled with awesome samples from our sponsors. Know someone who can help? Email us

Buy More Beer Tokens

Included in your run or festival entry are tokens for four 4 oz. beer samples or two 8 oz. beers (your tokens can also be used for cider or vodka beverages). If you would like to purchase additional chips, you can do so online in advance and pick up your tokens with your race kit, or you can purchase additional tickets on-site on event day.

Race Kit Pick Up

You can pick up your race kit, bib* and race shirt on-site on event morning. Please plan to arrive at least 1 hour in advance of your wave start time to ensure you have enough time to park (if driving), get into Ontario Place and find the registration tables. Pick up times and location are as follows:

Sunday, 9 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. at Heritage Square, Ontario Place

For race kit pick up you will need ID or your registration confirmation (printed out or on your phone). You will be able to pick up race kits for your friends.

*Please note that the colour of the number on your bib corresponds with your wave start time.

Getting There

Please plan to arrive 1 hour ahead of your start time.

The Famous Canadian Beer Run will start and finish on the East Island of Ontario Place. There is pay-and-display parking available on-site, or across the street on the CNE grounds. The facility is also accessible via TTC and GO Transit. Please consider carpooling with a designated driver, using public transit or taking a taxi/Uber. Full parking and transportation details

When you arrive at Ontario Place, you will go to the main entrance of the facility. Please be prepared to show your confirmation email for entry into the facility. It is an approximately 10 minute walk from the entrance to the start area.

Access to Ontario Place / Spectators

Please note that entry to Ontario Place is controlled due to permit and insurance reasons. To this end, only those who are running, those who have purchased a Festival Goer pass or those under 19 will be admitted. Festival Goer passes can be purchased online.

Festival

The Festival starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m.

Food Vendors

Our Festival food vendors will accept cash only. Steel Cut Coffee will be on-site starting at 9 a.m. serving up coffee, steel cut oatmeal and other treats for those who want to eat or enjoy a coffee before the start. Heirloom Toronto and The Pie Commission will start serving at the post-run Festival at 11 a.m.

There are no ATMs on site.

Free ice cream sandwiches will be provided to all participants courtesy of our friends from Dixie Outlet Mall. Look for their ice-cream bike cart for your free treat!

in/future

As part of your event entry fee, you will have the opportunity to preview outdoor art installations along the course. These installations are part of the in/future transformative art experience, happening on the west island of Ontario Place. If you would like to return to the West Island after your run and take in additional exhibits throughout Ontario Place’s indoor and outdoor spaces, you can purchase tickets online in advance using the discount code BEER to save 20%. Alternatively, you will be able to return to purchase tickets on-site.

Photos

Free photos will be available for download after the race at ZoomPhoto.ca. Please be sure to wear your bib on the front of your shirt so that our photographers can properly index your photos. The week following the race you can expect an email with details on how to download your photos.
